Sounds like what I need.
kkkk
Can't backup all my contacts in one run on WM6, program throws an exception (which I was unable to copy here) if I try to backup more than 50 contacts. Although I had the patience to backup all my contacts in a few runs.
very good
Looks to be great, but I have seen a number of questions on how to install this thing. Not being a techie either, I see a cab, and when looking inside a setup.xml and other files but no clue or docs or anything on how to run. Is this program only for those people who are technology minded or for anyone? How do I install this....if you put a simple doc file in the cab or on this page a number of people would not have had to email you. I could really use this and want to eport my WM 5 Contacts to put in my new WM-6 phone (HTC Touch). Thanks for any info.....
This little app is gold. My HTC TyTn got into a state where Outlook wouldn't talk to it without forcing an overwrite of the PDA's data. I had contact changes and did not want to lose data. I used this app to export all my contacts in XML, let ActiveSync/Outlook have its way, backed up that data then compared the resulting files. It highlighted which contacts needed to be restored and let me regain syncing without losing contacts changes (all I really cared about). One thing to watch out for, I had a contact with a '/' in it and got a file i/o error as a result (treated it as a file path separator). If you have contacts with /, < or > in their names, you will need to exclude those or rename them. There are probably other taboo chars but those are the ones I discovered.
this sofware is cools
The software works ok, but with a few clitches. If there are contacts containing characters not able to be part of a file name (like "/") it will crash. Also, on SPV_C600 (Wm 5) dies before starting.

Great app! It's already saved me when my HTC TyTN froze up and had to be re-formatted. One question: You don't happen to know any good "business card manager" on the PC side that can show a contact list based on the output from this app?
