VLC Remote allows you to control the VLC Media Player on you desktop PC using your Windows Mobile device.

The application is built using Microsoft .NET Compact Framework (v3.5). and relies on the VLC Media Player Web Interface (which you need to enable if you want VLCRemote to work see videolan wiki for details)

My device: HTC HD2 Computer: Win7 with VLC 1.1.3 It worked out for me. Now I can control VLC player from my mobile. I connected through WIFI because I use wireless router to connect my both mobile and laptop. So far, no problems to report.

Device: T-Mobile Wing OS: WM6 (CE 5.2.1622) I tried forwarding port 4212 to my VCL server and tried to connect VLC Remote. VLC Remote does try to connect to my VCL Server, but it does not connects to the correct port because the port function of VLC Remote does not work. VLC Remote uses a random port to connect instead of using the specified port in the settings. Please verify my issue. And it verified, fix it if you can. Also i saw there is a password field in the VLC server, is there a way you can add that in VLC Remote. Thank You! ZPF

daniel, you can't (at least not in the current version, it is still under development) Beginer, try launching the VLC web interface from internet explorer on the same machine you have VLC installed on (http://your-machine-ip:8080) if it works, try the same from the mobile device after you disable the firewall

Hi Ronital, thanks for the quick reply. The PC is currently not connected to the wireless network (is conneced to the same router but it is wired). The PC has the Windows firewall ON and has installed Kaspersky Antivirus too. Do these answers give you any idea of how to fix my problem? - thanks in advance.

Is your device in the same network (Wireless LAN) as the computer running VLC? do you have a firewall running on your computer?

Need some help. Ive installed the CAB file (in my HTC HD) but cant make it work. I followed steps from "http://wiki.videolan.org/Control_VLC_via_a_browser" but when browing from my HD cannot connect to the IP of the machine running VCL client. Any ideas?....
