SmartProtect Mobile Protection Software with SMS Auto-ResponderThis software helps you track and recover your phone once stolen or lost.

Features includes :
1. A Thief or Lost Prevention Software with SMS Auto-Responder and GPS Capability created for Windows Mobile Devices.
2. When you forget your phone and can''t remember where you put it, you can SMS your phone to get the exact location via GPS information if your phone has GPS Capability or approximate location based on Cell Location.
3. You can SMS your phone for other information such as IMSI, IMEI or even remotely reboot your phone etc.
4. This software is also equipped with Thief Prevention system which will automatically SMS your partner phone number if the SIM has been changed against the registered SIM. You can register multiple phone numbers as partners.
5. This software supports registration of Multiple SIM Cards and also registration of Multiple Phone Conctacts as Partners.
6. When your phone has been stolen, it will automatically SMS relevant information such as IMEI, SIM Card Number or IMSI, GPS Location if supported and Cell Location to your Registered Partner Phone.
7. It is able to also auto-delete Phone Memory Contacts if the phone has been stolen.
8. It is password protected and the password is encrypted with AES-Encryption.
9. Its un-install proof. It requires special procedure to uninstall the protection, so even if you uninstall it, it is still working.

You need atleast .NETCF 2.0 for this app to work (which most Windows Mobile has so not to worry).

here are the SMS Commands that you can send to your phone. Note though that the SMS is only accepted when :

1. The SMS came from a partner phone. (You need to register the phone as a partner phone first).

2. The password is correct. Password is based on the password that you have saved when you configure SmartProtect on your phone. The password is authenticated by the phone once the SMS Command is received.

3. When the SMS Command is correct.

The SMS commands syntax is :

::/[command],[password]

example :

::/getGPSLocation,mypassword

Available Commands are :

getIMEI - Retrieves the IMEI Number

lockMyPhone - makes your phone unusable

enableLockPhone - Enable the Lock Mechanism of your Phone. When your phone is stolen, your phone will become unusable.

resetPhone - Reboots your phone.

deleteContacts -Deletes your mobile phone contacts. It does not delete the SIM Card Contacts.

unregisterPhone - Unregisters the sender as a partner phone.

disableSecurity - Disables the security mechanism of your phone. This requires restart to take effect.

enableSecurity - Enables the security mechanism of your phone. This requires restart to take effect.

getIMSI - Retrieves the IMSI Number.

alertContacts - alerts your contacts that your phone has been stolen.

getCellLocation - Gets the approximate location based on Cell Tower that your phone has registered to.

getGPSLocation - Retrieves the GPS Coordinates.

exitApp - When you use getGPSLocation command, this application stays in the memory. This command exits the application. However, this applications will still be activated if any of the command is received.

registerPhone - Registers your sender as partner phone number.

listCommands - List the commands available for the Software.

Hello, I have this installed on my phone and tried testing it by inserting a different sim. The software sent me the website to look for the location of the phone but the website is not working (http://www.witracks.com.br/gmaps.php?myl=515:3:20157:43448) When I enter that site it gives me this message "Please, this is only for test, use with moderation! If you want to get the PHP source code: http://www.witracks.com.br/gmaps.txt Not found!" Can you help please?

What a great concept for mobile software! Kudos and thanks to the developer for taking time out and making this available to the public. I have one very small request for the next release that I think will be VERY helpful for people testing this app out on their phones and for real situations: I tried registering an EMAIL address as a (partner phone) and was not successful. For example, I can normally send SMS text messages from my email account (Example: me@yahoo.com) to my phone via my carrier's standard text email address which is: ([myphonenumber]@txt.att.net). When I reply from my phone back to the sender, it will send an SMS back to my standard email account. It would be nice if this software could accommodate an email address as a "Partner Phone". This way if I don't want to use a friend's phone as a partner phone and rack up SMS charges and leave my Smart Protect password just sitting in their "Sent Messages" box, I can just control my phone from my standard email address and no second party needs to be involved. Hope this makes sense. Thanks again for this software. Brilliant idea!

Hi. Is this compatible with a Sprint Mogul (HTC VX6800?) running 6.1? Thank-You, Eric

Never mind about setting up an XDA site. I just found your link, and I will post everything there too. Thanks.

One more thing: Is it possible to add another feature in which an owner can send an SMS to the phone to turn on the camera to take a picture or shoot a one minute video (but without flash's being on so that the thief won't notice it) and automatically send the picture or video to ownner's email via Mobile Outlook?

Shah @ January 13th 2009 3:03 am

Hi mayo98: I have one more question. I am using a Sprint Mogul (HTC PPC6800 TyTnII), which is a CDMA phone. Does this program only work on GSM based phones since it has a lot of stuff about SIM card?

Shah @ January 13th 2009 2:58 am
device: Sprint PPC 6800

Hi Mayo98: 1) Can you modify the application so that if a person needs to remove the software they can do so after entering a password? What happens when you have an update and I can't remove the old version to install the new one? 2) Can you enable the program to send info via SMS to the owners email since I don't have any other people with cell phones to partner with now? SMS can be send from PPCs to email addresses and vice versa. And of course, it would be nice to be able to track the phone via info from SMS on Google Maps either on my laptop or another partnered person's PDA that has Google Maps. 3) Can you set up a thread in the XDA forum website so that we can communicate with you about troubles and suggestions about this true awesome software?

Kennex @ January 5th 2009 11:28 pm

Nice software. Should it hide the first screen when reboot since if the SIM card was changed, phone has to reboot? We don't want thief knows this software has been installed.
