Useful software for mobile
Great Software !
What you mean with how can i uninstall it ? Just stop the QuickMenu.exe with any task manager and you will be back again with your old school start menu.
ok im trying to uninstall it but it wont doesnt show up on the task manager and its still running. i want to completely take it off my phone, what can i do?
Delete QuickMenu.lnk from /Windows/StartUp Then Soft Reset.
may be you should start using some real task manager like this one
Task Manager v2.7 ! Not too complex but enough to manage all processes.
gread
this menu is very usefull ! Thanks alot, and i like that it has no installer and i can place it anywhere i want.
I just got my tilt today and am trying to figure this thing out. I've installed the program but I can't make my home screen look like the one pictured above. Any help please?
SamTilt, the home screen is not part of this software.
Oh really? Then where is everyone getting this cool screen?
Never mind, I think I found it.
Looks nice, however, I lost my X-button 1.5 and it froze my Mobile Shell. Even when I tried closing Mobile Shell, although it was unchecked on my Items list, Mobile Shell was still displayed on my Mogul 6800. I deleted Quick Menu since it was not on the Add/Remove list and the X button was still nowhere to be found. I had to do a hard reset, luckily I had my programs backed up w/ SPB Backup....
The screenshot today screen uses the HTC home plugin plus the Radio Device Toggler and the battery indicator is VistaHide Gauge Enjoy !
wont seem to load fully says there is a sharing error. can someone help? thanks in advance
a good task manager is wktask. it places the open programs by the start menu like a pc and has a launcher if you want to use it.
How do you install please as it is not a cab file> Do you just copy the whole folder to the PPC? Help as it looks kool
Awful piece of software. Locked up my 8125, big time. Can't get the damn thing off my PPC.
thank you
This is the only software that I had to do a hard reset to get rid of. While it is a good idea, it's not stable. Load at your own risk!
To install just copy the archive content into your Porgram Files folder, and then execute QuickMenu.exe !
To UNINSTALL just kill the QuickMenu.exe process with any task manager and delete, then delete the QuickMeny shortcut from /Windows/StartUp folder and restart your device !!!
Best working with WM6 !
im using a Tilt (WM 6) and this is an absolute must have... great application for one hand control... basically resembles a true PC Start button w/ the inclusion of Task Manager... this was what the start menu should be...
I've tried that download to the pc and that worked it came in as a zip file then i dragged and dropped to the phone and it says a file did not load the program works to an extent i cant access the options menu it says "load qmenucfg.dll failed!" "Please resetup this program and try again." i deleted the program and reinstalled it on the phone it goes into zip and is only about 55% opens up and shows up but its not complete
I downloaded the file and tried to execute it and then nothing happened. Nothing changes. So, I deleted it and reinstalled it and still can't get anything to happen when I execute the file. I'm running on WM6 on an HTC Vox (S710).
Even though I have read the experts tips to uninstall the program, I can't! On the computer, it won't delete, and the program is on the "Delete Programs" list om my mobile. I have a HTC Touch. PLEASE HELP!
Feature suggestion: don't "replace" Programs with custom folder; supplement it. I want access to all programs *and* a list of my own apps. Problem is, my list of my own apps is more than 7.
I cannot get to QuickMenu's settings. It throws an error "Load qmenucfg.dll failed!" I have tried reinstalling and gets the same error whether it is in RAM or card. I also get this error after every soft reset. Anyone else?
I've been having the same problem as kenny song. I already posted it an have gotten no response.
It works on Qtek S200 via WM6 very well. For running; -Create a folder ex. under Program Files on your device. -Copy QuickMenu.exe, QMenuCfg.dll and QMenuBtn.dll to new folder. -Run QuickMenu.exe -Click start menu on your device -Open Option under QuickMenu and set your parameters. (ex. Autostart when system start etc.) If any questions send a mail to martoniki@gmail.com Regards Martoniki
Eric, I just found out my problem. There are 3 files in the download. You need to install all 3. I just installed the QuickMenu.exe. No wonder I keep getting the error.
yea I tried that as well but I get a message that says the files have no program to support the file. I tried loading it from my notebook to my phone then tried to load it off the net with my phone. I get nada kinda frustrating cause the program seems like its put together well.
looks nice
Depending on where you tap the start menu button it reacts different. If you click the Windows logo you are getting the QuickMenu, if you are tapping the "Start" text label while on your today screen you will get the regular start menu !!! Be sure to have this in mind.
Love the software works a treat on my HTC Touch WM6, Only issue i have is that the Battery indicator covers the Default Task Manager, is there away of moving the battery indicator.. Thanks again for great software.
Cool, found out how take the Battery indicator off. much better now thanks again for a good release
very good
Looks Good!
1st-Ceate a 'New folder' in your program file. 2nd-Copy all 3 extracted files a)QMenuBtn.dll b)QMenuCfg.dll c) QuickMenu, and paste them into your new folder in your program file. 3rd-Click on the QuickMenu icon, and it will launch the setup. 4th- After the setup, use your new 'start-menu'and scroll down and click on 'Quick Menu',then 'Option'. It will then launch another installation which u'll have lots of cool settings to 'Play around with'! 5th-Enjoy
Thank you kenny for your detailed info. It works now. comming from Palm OS, it is so different.
Download file is corrupted and can't be opened.
This is an EXCELLENT application. I've tried both WisBar and SmallMenu. WisBar was overkill for just getting a cascading start menu, and expensive. SmallMenu behaved oddly on my Sprint Mogul... sometimes drawing a blue box instead of the windows/start icon, not accessing Settings, not pulling up when I clicked the Windows hardkey, etc. Great, great application
Cannot work perfectly with wm5. dll file error.
Dont work on my TOSHIBA G500 WM5... ;(
What a fantastic piece of software.... I have this installed on my T-mobile Mda Compact 111 running Wm5 and it installed and runs absolutely perfectly... Thanks to Kenny i have now found the "hidden" menu and all the great options.... And thanks to Sotek for telling us the easy way to find the standard menu... Yes, this really is that much better than Wisbar and a real treat to use... A Plus stars all the way +++++++
Excellent software. It's very customizable and does everything needed. As a former Wisbar Advance user, I really appreciate the cascading menus. THANKS! [HTC Mogul 6800/Sprint/WM6]
I love this. I would just like to have a plain theme to install that would work with other black and gray applications that I am using.
great piece of software!! my god. im so glad i found this page! thanks a lot. =) and loooving the cascading menus.
great software. is it possible to remove start menu items just by deleting them from the start menu folder in windows? regards
This is a great piece of software. However I think there are some issues when used with other plugins like SPB and HTC TODAY Screens. Application does not always launch on reboot, but can be started manually though! Great Work.
Hi, I have just installed it... grest! I have only a problem: Program and Settings tab in menuitem seem not to work! If I deactivate the Frequenters tab I have no more program icons in start menu!
my phone is so cool and greatly due to programs such as this which ensure a most integrated way of accessability with powerful additions matches my tiny phone with bukly pieces of massive machinery due to my belief that for the most part I don't even need a personal desktop which aslo wroks with my current basic needs like communictaino nad information retreval so mad props to the prgoram and website producers and thanks for the reinfrocement
Great piece of software !!! Nice and great working on my windows mobile 5 Great interface, all included in this utility !! Many thanks !!! device CECT O8I GPS Windows Mobile 5.0 With the messaging and Security Feature Pack OS 5.1.525 (Build 15364.3.4.4.) Processor: ARM926T OMAP730
Great software! It works excellent on my HTC Mogul, and has allowed me to get rid of several other apps (like app managers, nattery display, memory usage displays, screen rotator, screen turn-off, and more). Keep in mind that if you enable "Show on all titlebars", then you won't see the "Notifications" icon and softkey text that occasionally are shown. Also the backlight adjust shortcut doesn't seem to work on my device. Trivial issues, really. Again, great software.
this software is really awful. I ve never seen anything like this. It hanged my treo. a real disaster. TO UNINSTALL, delete quickmenu from windows/appbuttons
This is a great little application. I was a long time user of Small Menu and tMan, but QuickMenu has replaced them both. So far, on my Dopod 838 Pro running WM6, Quickmenu has worked flawlessly.
I just wanted to say thanks for this tool. It's one of the most valuable apps I've installed. Great stuff!
for some reason wont work with my tmobile dash. i have downloaded it to my pc and from there i copied th files to the phone but when I click on the quickmenu.exe file nottin happens.
This is THE best software for Windows Mobile I have come across yet. Straight out of the box, i realized that the start menu was not as functional as I would have expected. Low and behold, this is the best darn start menu I have ever seen! it incorporates every aspect of your phone seamlessly! another cool thing is that it only appears when you click the windows icon and windows botton on the tilt. so you can go back to the old one my touching "start" this could be handy if you would want to revisit the old start menu for some odd reason without much hassle. You know, just to keep it company. Not sure what the hibernate function does...help>
i tried to install but my phone only displays the menu.exe file. the other 2 are not visable. Helppppppppppp!!!!!!!!!
I too had the problem where quick menu would not let me load the option screen. I would continously display a dialog saying it could not load a DLL. I was able to fix this by selecting show all files in the file explorer. Somehow the file explorer will not display DLL files unless you manually force it to. Likewise, Quickmenu is not able to load the DLL files if they are hidden in the file explorer. I hope this helps.
Very useful app.. easy to install works great.. much better than the standard ppc start menu. Great app, thanks :D
how do you get teh battery indicator to show?
I tried installing to my tilt a couple of times before reading Kennys post on Nov 17. IT WORKS! I absolutely adore it. Just follow his steps exactly as described.
my wm5 asus p535 good working.basarili ηalışma . teşekkόr ederiz.
to uninstall first exit quickmenu from quickmenu\exit. then delete the three files namely QMenuBtn.dll,QMenuCfg.dll & QuickMenu.exe.Also delete QuickMenu.exe from windows startup.TOo clear the unused registry entries, if any, use Cleartemp.Be careful not to delete registry entries u're not sure of.
Works great on the HTC Kaiser. Follow the steps provided by Kenny on Nov. 17, 2007
Nice program but memory leak as every couple days it freezes windows and have to soft reset to get working again.
There are some minor problems on a Samsung SCH-i760. I had to copy/paste the QuickMenu exe. into the Windows\Start Menu in order to get to the program. Also the battery % indicator keeps disapearing. I will keep testing and post results on our forum at http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/samsung-sch-i760/95957-must-have-freeware-programs-3.html
Love this program! It makes accessing files easier and allows for quick browsing between open apps. Makes the whole pocket pc experience so much more enjoyable.
Hi I am doin all what the experts have said. Let me give my steps: 1. Extract and put all 3 files to a folder in the program files 2. Click the Quickmenu.exe (it works) 3. I go to options in quickmenu and check - replace system start-menu and auto-start quick menu. 4. Now when i again press either the windows logo or the hardware Start button on my pda i get the normal menu. 5. Checking the task manager shows quickmnenu is running. I have tried all combinations - putting all files in windows folder, in program folder, creating shortcut in start menu everything but the system menu seems to override the quickmenu. Anyone plssssss help. My email is grover15@gmail.com My Fone - O2 Atom Life (WM6.1)
To UNINSTALL this program just go to the new start button that this program generates and click on QuickMenu button then click close at the bottom. It will prompt you how you want to close it , just click YES. Good luck... I had the same problem :)
Until I installed QuickMenu on my Axim x51v, I was launching my apps with tdLaunch, and switching between them with Magic Button. I've now uninstalled that combination, because QuickMenu offers both of those functions and more. It's the quickest and most versatile tool for those purposes that I've ever encountered, and I've tried lots of them. It is also much easier on memory. This is exactly what I was looking for, and it will be a cold day in hell before I try anything else.
DONT KNOW HOW TO UNINSTALL? Just kill the QuickMenu.exe process with any task manager and delete, then delete the QuickMeny shortcut from /Windows/StartUp folder and restart your devie, And its completely gone! Great taskmanager thats good with processes: http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-task-manager.html
This is a must-have... maybe the best thing since wisbar.
