Well, did you ever miss a ping function on your Pocket PC like you find it on Windows XP? Pocket Ping is a small software which allows you to execute a ping from your Pocket PC device. Features:
- This program runs on Pocket PC.
- You can ping an IP address or a host name.
- It shows you the IP address of an enterd host name.
- Also your own IP address is shown an updated, if it changes. Installation:
Simply extract the zip file to a temporary folder. It contains one executable (PocketPing.exe), wich you can directly copy to the start menu of your Pocket PC.

Update Description:
v1.6:
- Bugfix: Some IP addresses received error "invalid host".

v1.5:
- Pocket Ping is now screen resolution / orientation aware. v1.4:
- If pinged more than 4 times statistics are shown.
- Bugfix: The host field can now contain long hostnames. v1.3:
- Added a list with most recent pinged hosts.

v1.2:
- Made code more robust.
- Tapping on the repeat-icons will now change the mode immediately.
- The own IP address is now shown on every system. v1.1:
- Fixed a bug.

v1.0:
- First version.

Very poor - does not appear to ping across subnets, which has just led me on a wild-goose chase for several days. Use the PING functionality included in the wi-fi networking since at least WM2003SE, which works.

Jeff, Microsoft has a network analyzer powertoy for WM5 that includes ping, ipconfig and a couple others you might want to give that a try. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=081C6401-49D4-4506-A03B-C41BC76C2F51&displaylang=en
