Voice Notes Recorder with MP3 encoding (NoteM) was implemented as an alternative to build-in Notes applicationοΏ½s voice recording feature. It gives you approximately 5.5 compression rate (for Low bitrate option) as compared to Notes default recording mode (8-bit 11.025kHz mono PCM), with the same (or even better) perceptual quality. Higher bitrates are also available (you can even record music).
The user interface also was implemented as similar as possible to Notes GUI. Pocket PC 2002 users can download v1.10 here (736 KB).

Dear Ederson: Reinstall it and when asked if it should be Default Audio, choose "no." That is all you need to do.

Like Kinny, The same happened with me. DON΄T INSTALL IT Kinny rote: " I uninstalled this because the audio of the recordings was choppy, but now all my mp3 files have become unassociated with any player so I can't use them for anything including ringtones."

I used for years in WM2003 and it was one of the most reliable tool. Now that I have it installed in WM5.0 it works equally fine. Its most useful feature is the recording in mp3 (or as WAV though it's huge)with high compression rate. It would be good that the developers do an update for WM6+ users and silence them.(Perhaps the mistake of those who complain was to set this app. as Default Audio when asked during the installation. I would recommend them to delete the app. and reinstall it and when asked if it should be Default Audio, choose "no" )

Same here! Tool not recomended for WM 6.1! All it does is mess up the system, and doesn't work any better then the default recorder incorporated in the note application. My quickfix to this ringtone problem was to re associate all audio files to my default player (in this case GSPlayer, which is an excellent application). I'm sure there are applications to associate file types to applications, but installing GS Player is just the easiest way and it's such an excellent player! Once you install GSPlayer, if for some reason it doesn't automatically associate you media files, do it manually by pointing (in GSplayer) to Menu -> Tools -> Options and Associations tab, check all and your good to go! ;) No soft reset required! --> x-LaU

I likewise had problems after using this program. My phone would not play ringtones. I'm still trying to get back full functions. (strangely, the media player still plays mp3s). How can you re-associate mp3s with other programs?

Kinny @ June 3rd 2008 3:35 pm

I uninstalled this because the audio of the recordings was choppy, but now all my mp3 files have become unassociated with any player so I can't use them for anything including ringtones.
