Basic drawing application for your windows mobile phone

The goal is to create a basic drawing application, but add a mobile twist to it. On the menu, I have added a menu item for selecting a picture using the select picture dialog. The nice thing about the select picture dialog is it allows you to use your camera to take a picture and then select it as your picture.

In a way this application is a lot like the mobile signature capture application we did a while back, but there are some important differences: picture selection support, camera support, save file dialog support, and more. The business case for this application is something like the following: an insurance agent arrives on the scene of an automotive accident, she takes a picture using Mobile Sketcher and then adds notes and sketches to the picture for claims processing.

So users can select a picture from their device or take a picture and use it for their background. And then they can draw and edit the picture using Mobile Sketcher. At the bottom of the screen we allow user to select different colors for the pen’s ink: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, brown, white, and black. Well okay, white is really a light gray since white on white is hard to see.

same issue with saving files that others are reporting with saving. instead of saving the sketch i spent 20 minutes working on, i got a nice screenshot of the save box... oh yeah, it also erased the canvas after the faulty save. Looks like an issue of saving the wrong buffer...

I am experiencing the same problem on my Sprint Mogul (HTC PPC6800) running on wm6.1: Instead of saving the picture and the drawings superimposed on it, a picture of the "Save As" menu is saved. I hope the program designer can fix this problem because the concept is great. Anyway to get more colors and different thickness of drawing lines in the program in the next version? Good luck.

Yes, I have VS Painter LE and it is nice. I suppose VS Painter LE obviates the need for this program, as it can do what this does and so much more. That said, this program would still be very nice if they fixed the bug.

Nice try, but on my Windows Mobile 6.1 XV 6800 what the program does is as follows: 1. I call up a picture of my boss. 2. I draw a funny mustache and beard on it. 3. I hit SAVE. 4. A save dialogue screen appears asking me where I want to save it. I answer and hit SAVE. 5. When I then go to click on my beautiful drawing you know what I get? A snapshot of the SAVE dialogue page! You have an error in your program somewhere that is causing your application to take a graphci image of its own save dialogue screen and saving that as the intended picture. Have a screen shot of a save dialogue screen is much less interesting to me that having a funny drawing of my boss! If you can fix this bug I would consider this a very nice application.
