Many people today carry mini-flashlights on the end of their key chain. Apparently there is a need for this type of device because many stores sell them near the cash registers in the checkout lines. I wonder why these mini-flashlights are so popular when almost everyone has a mobile phone today. Maybe it is because the phone’s back light is not bright enough.

Hmm, this got me thinking. Most Windows Mobile devices have large powerful screens, maybe there is a way we could reuse our device as both a mobile phone and a mini-flashlight.

The UI is simple but the task is simple. I considered using a watermark image for the background or add a gradient to the background. With a goal of having as much of the screen as bright as possible I think the simple solid color background was the choice to make.

We only have a few menu options: Burn, Menu, Settings, About, and Exit. I decided to use the term "Burn" like you see on road sign saying "Motorcycles must burn lights". We only have a few screens: Main, Settings, About. The settings screen you should see to the left, and the main screen should be to the right of this text.

On the about screen we let the user choose the color they would like the screen to "burn" at. By default we have chosen white to maximize brightness.

We used NumericUpDown controls to maximize usability, this allows user to choose the soft input panel or the control directly to set the color amounts.

sanjay for the new .net frame go to http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en If you read the instructions, it will tell u. This package uses ActiveSync 4.0 to update the device. Before running NETCFSetupv35.msi, connect your device to your PC. If your device is not connected, ActiveSync will store the CAB file and will not install the package until you connect. If you are not using ActiveSync, run the CAB files on the device that correspond to the device–specific CAB files found in the install folder.

I have en Eten M700, and I found a message on Internet which indicates that its camera flash cannot be used as a torch (after some uses it become very hot and stop working, the author said). So I went to this program, but I encounter the same error as someone else here... IT DOES NOT WORK!

I came here looking for an LED flash flashlight app, which seems to be most commonly referred to as a "torch", not a flashlight (take heed, googlers). As for lilmomo's link, I was only able to find VJCandela, which is only useful for HTC phones. But a little digging turned up this torch app for Eten phones: http://eten-users.eu/index.php?showtopic=13538&st=45&p=81900&#entry81900 As with lilmomo, I do apologize for hijacking this thread a little, but I think this post is relevant to people who might consider downloading this app. Cheers!

ok, well in all honesty im sorry to who ever it is developed this program, I don't think its fair for me to use him as a way to promote a different program, but id really like to help those who actually want to use this app. it can come in really handy to have the camera flashlight turned on at will. I use it all the time. so here is a link where you can find 3 different download links. there are two diffferent programs out there. one is just a simple on and off flashlight. the other one has a option to turn on the light for 30 sec, or a min, or for it to stay on. check it out for those with titan mobile phones this app will be the best and handyest! let me know what u think.! http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=27222

well, I have not tried this app, but there is a app already out there for those who have phones with a flash. like the sprint mogul 6800 or the verizon vx8300 and the at&t tilt etc. if ur phone has a LED flash then this app is for u. u can even preset a hardware button to automaticly turn it on or off with out having to actually open the phone to the camera app. google it if u want. its really cool!

I got the same error message as Sanjay. I used it on a Q-tec 9100 (MDA Vario) with WM5.
