If you are a Last.fm user then this application which is currently in development could be of interest to you. Last.fm Mobile in its Pocket PC version has scrobbling and radio functionality, and the Smartphone version is limited to scrobbling from Windows Media Player - but it works perfectly.

Using a unique music recommendation system known as "Audioscrobbler", Last.fm builds a detailed profile of each user's musical taste by recording details of all the songs the user listens to, either on the streamed radio stations or on the user's computer or portable music device.

This information is transferred to Last.fm's database ("scrobbled") via a plug-in installed into the user's music player. The profile data is displayed on a personal web page. The site offers numerous social networking features and can recommend and play artists similar to the user's favourites.

This application was wonderful. However, it stopped working around July 2009. I tried different tricks but nothing worked. Is it now for a fee rather than free as currently on the iphone? Any suggestions...

This application is awesome, but I wish I could play neighborhood radio and those kind of channels with it... I don't even get that on my Pocket PC (it just says "not implemented yet"). Gonna try the 1.8 beta and see if that supports that stuff.

Excellent program 4.5 out of 5. I have windows mobile 6.1 Pro. However, it needs some tweaking: 1. it creates a new area at the bottom on the main screen (notification area), and the screen is small. You do not have control on that. 2. If you choose the option Not to show on the notification area, it does not do that. 3. The program inadvertently starts when you start windows media player in spite of not linking both programs 4. There is no feature to cancel any created radio channel. 5. So far, I have not figured a way to answer calls while the program is running. Hope that these issues are taken care of in the final version. Thanks for the developer. Excellent work...

WebPilot1, not sure what phone you have, but I am quite pleased with the "...fabulous accomplishments in the realm of software...of the mobile platform at this juncture...". Not sure what your expectations are, though. Perhaps they are a wee bit lofty?

While the promise of fabulous accomplishments in the realm of software abounds, the reality of the mobile platform at this juncture (late 2008) can be largely summarized under the heading of ''half baked vaporware''. Pity.

Have now installed version below. Some things don't work acceptable. Perhaps it's not me understanding application or parameter settings(?) Situation is that I have good signal on 3G, but experience this: 1. Have "bandwith" pending 10-20 kbs while buffering. 2. Between songs, the buffering dont start buffering the next song, so I have 1-2 minutes of silence... 3. When song is played(buffering ok), once every minute the sound "hacks". 4. The buffering have to reach approx 80% before start playing track.. why? 5. Buffering (I change buffersize to 2500 kB) Conclusion. The main reason I started with Last.fm was to get to the listening from my PDA over 3G/GPRS, because I travel a lot. Now I'm disapointed. This version should be called 0.4... Regards /Urban
