Does not work on Samsung Omnia. Only show page 1/76, does not advance to next page nor show the explanation just a blank screen.

Kanji are the characters the Japanese use that originated from China, although most have the same meanings, some will differ; and the pronunciations are completely different. Katakana is syllabary that is nowadays mostly used for imported words nowadays, but is also used for sound effects in images, etc. There are more differences between the uses of katakana and hiragana, and they haven't always been the same. But that's a lesson for another place, another time...

Edwin @ January 22nd 2009 2:23 am

Actually katakana is for foreign translations or new words they don't have (ex: hamburger in japanese would be in katakana). meanwhile romanji is more for pronunciation, grammar, and some traditional words where they do not have a kanji for.

It,s not have the meaning why?

Mishy @ August 27th 2008 8:57 pm

Kanji. Kan+Ji = Chinese Character in Japanese. Further, romaji is Japanese orthography transliterated into an (in this case, the one that English uses) alphabet.
