GSMbeam is what it sounds like. Two people can use it to beam stuff over the phone. No GPRS, no special lines needed.
The idea is that you leave it on all the time. Don't worry about wasted cpu time or battery life because most of the time the threads are in wait states doing nothing. When you push off there is no processing by GSMbeam, the hardware "wakes up" the device when a call comes in, and then it dose its thing.
- Any data sent is checked for errors and reassembled before you get a confirmation at the sending end. This means that if you see the sent ok icon it is 100% certain the file arrived intact (although the receiver could still choose to reject the transfer). Conversely, if you received a file you can be sure it is intact and not going to contain corrupted data.

I need GSMbeam, but i can NOT download it (its now not available at all).I need it very badly,cause i developing some application and i have problem with it, therefore i wanted to check the line and operator with the application that works for sure.In this case thi is GSMbeam. If someone knows, help me to find GSMbeam.

I am the author and it is not intended as a final release. In the past week I have updated it 5 times already. I just want people to be aware that beta for fixing problems not permanent use.

This is a beta release and will expire in September 2006. It shows this in the about dialog in GSMbeam and now more clearly states it on the web page. In my opinion "freeware" is something one can use in an unlimited way, and this having an expirey date is not freeware.
