BAF GPS Toggle is a today screen plugin for Windows Mobile. It has been designed specifically for the HTC Titan, but should work on most other Windows Mobile phones that have a need for this type of application.

BAF GPS Toggle is written in native code (not .NET), and uses very little memory. It sits on your Today Screen, allowing you to click on it to toggle GPS on and off for your applications. While GPS is toggled on, it also displays lock status as well as the number of satellites and GPS signal strength from each satellite. Simple as that. It is similar to the GPSToday plugin, but simply toggles GPS on and off as opposed to checking for nearby contacts in your address book and doing tons of things (which helps conserve memory and battery life).

Version 1.9 Update:

GPSToggle v1.9 has been released! To update, download the updated cab file and run this on your device. Install to device (not memory card), as changing this option doesn't change where it installs anywhere. After installation, soft reset, and you will be running the updated toggler!

Version 1.9 adds various tweaks, including a display to show lock status and GPS signal strength. There are screenshots below showing the changes.

Shout out to diiishe for creating the on/off icons for this plugin, and colonel for advising on the user interface for the lock status/signal strength.

Works on my Touch Pro, but only top half shows up on today screen. Would be nice to see the whole app. Signal strength is cut off. Locks on to sats quickly. :)

I tried this program with my LG Incite, and it works great. Locks onto 7 sats, in my area, inside of my apartment within 30 seconds. I like it very much. I don't use GPS test anymore, this works better on my phone

Works fine on my eten glofiish m800, but as on dave's pda, it doesn't show correctly: half the line is cut. Maybe because my m800 is vga???

Installed it on my Cingular 8525 (HTC TyTn) but can't see it on today screen. Turned off Resco and still nothing.
