I agree. Seems strange to have a whole icon -- especially one using almost half a meg -- when you could just have the site in your favorites list.
very convenient, works fine. thanks
very convenient, works fine. thanks.
This clickety link button is great. This is my favorite site EVAR!
I have used this application on windows mobile pocket pc professional 6 nd its working fine with a usage of 469kb app download
Personally I am running windows mobile 6.5 (large icons in the start menu)and i have 130 mb free on the device itself not even mentioning the sd card. I would rather have high quality icons than smaller size. I didn't test the other version posted, but if you are truly worried about a few extra kb, than use the other version instead.
Umm... tried making the same http://www.hotlinkfiles.com/files/2582392_rp6pe/ppcfreeware.CAB it took about 22k
A simple event launching app and coz of images 468 k .... ummm the app size nt good compared to app usage ... it could be under 20 k... i thought in Handhelds we always emphasise on app size while programming ...Anyway good
I think this sw is quite useful. I am a user of M2d. I put a shortcut in 'program' in M2d. It is a good app. Carry on, the writer of this software. Hope that you can make improvement!
You are welcome to run a spy/malware scan on it but it will run up negative. Don't be ignorant and make accusations without good grounds, The extra size is more than likely the size of the icon images (open reshacker to see for yourself). As for the .url thing, it may do that for other browsers (its not for me using skyfire) but you will not get the freewarepocketpc icon, you will get the browser icon.
Why does a shortcut installer take 468K ? maybe uses PSD? deficit?
Why does a shortcut installer take 468K ? Malware... Spyware... I think somthing stinks here. With .Net I did the same thing with a 23k install package. BEWARE
Joel, my default browser right now is Iris, and the .url files open the sites in Iris, not PIE. If you set a third-party browser as your default by using a menu option in the browser, it should automatically modify the association for .url files. If it can't do that, then it isn't much of a browser.
I poot when I'm sitting in Congress. They smell awful.
Simple app but works as it says it does, found my default brower n opened the site in it on my Samsung Epix. And personaly I do not care what the program was made with as long as it works as described and is not malware I am happy.
xD it'd be more useful to make an app that's like the apple's app store and just show like 2-3 pages of freeware from this site and give the descp and download and comments.
.Url Only opens with PIE, this program reads a registry key for your default browser and opens the link in that. As already stated, writing a .url (or a .lnk file for that matter) will only open with PIE, but besides that point, alot of basic users don't know how to, or don't want to do that. And yes Erel, the program was created with basic4ppc :D
Anyone with a phone can do this themselfes. And you made this app with Basic4ppc
Not something that makes much sense. I still would have to go to start menu. What's so hard with opening ie and selecting the ppc myself?
