This one works in background and does not alert user that their location is queried. Restarts automatically if phone is power cycled.

The incoming SMS message must have this keyword:

fm?

If PIN protection is enabled the PIN needs to be specified in the incoming SMS message as well, eg:

fm?1234

If GPS is not available then app replies with link that includes the CellID information, and clicking on the link in the SMS message will bring up a map showing location of the phone tower with which the phone is communicating.

Really fantastic program for A HTC TP2. But after a few days it don't work anymore: "'fmsAdmin' has been built with an evaluation version of {smartassembly}, which has expired on friday 4 december 2009. You need to purchase a license of {smartassembly}.

Didn't work on Sprint Mogul. Just recieved a text from sender that said fm? Seems likee something I could use, what am I doing wrong? net3.5 is installed and program is load on phone not card. dadto5 AT gmail DOT com

Woow it works quite good! I had to wait for 5 minutes, so forget my last post(s, stupid Firefox)! It returns: "Click http://www.findmesms.com/wb3.php?cid=....... to view location. This is location of telephone tower only. GPS not available (errNoFlaG)" I clicked on the link and guess what, it shows me a google map where he pointed my location only 2 blocks away from my home! Really fantastic app! I'm suspicious if it works that better when GPS ís enabled, and i'm going to try that tomorrow. I keep you guys up to date..

Don't think it works.. It's a simple program, just choose if you want the program turned on and if you want PIN on it. I just tried it on my own phone but i still didn't get a message back, so i'm still waiting.. Maybe this is because on my Touch HD GPS is always enabled (i think, you doens't have to enable it manually), and i'm now inside my house. So maybe it sees that my GPS is turned on, so doens't send the Cell ID, but also doesn't send GPS location because he doesn't have GPS reception..

Does NOT perform any of its intended functionality on a TP2 regardless of the settings. Nice idea , maybe someone else can create a version of this that works...
