dciTask is a very simple and very compact task manager for Windows Mobile.

The application itself is just 5kb !

While running dciTask will display a small like at the top right corner of your screen, when tapped it will display a small menu with all the running applications. It can also be assigned to a hardware button.

Great small clean app. I put the 'open' file in the Start Menu and use it as a way to switch tasks without going back to the Today screen. (WM 6.1 on ATT Tilt-htc 8925)

BTW, the shortcut in the start menu is only necessary if you want to assign it to a hardware button.

If you normally launch your apps from the Today screen, as I do with cLaunch, this task switcher is an excellent choice. It's simple, very fast, and easy on resources. It needs no installer; just make sure to place a shortcut to dciTask.exe in your Windows Startup folder, and a shortcut to dciTaskOpen in the Start Menu. If you don't use a Today screen launcher, however, QuickLaunch (freeware, available on this site) combines a similar type of task switcher with a full-blown program launcher on the same pop-up menu.

As task managers go, I personally prefer Magic Button, but it's started to act up on me lately. So I'll give this a try.
