as an engineer i love seeing this data come across to the world map instantly. the developer responds quickly to issues and cares about his product. it helped me to confirm the dead zone around my house and i may take this data to at
This app is not working on my TP2. When executed, the app never fully loads - just a title and a busy indicator.
good softwear
@Chris: Just enable the "Upload Directly" option if you have a data plan and walk around with the application running. It will send data and will eventually location cell phone towers/display the coverage of the area you are in. The results are on the website listed above (cellmapper.net).
I'm still lost about how to use it could you providea link to check out everything it can do?or how to use it. lol much appreciated. hd2
@Jim: Thanks for submitting CDMA results. I was able to confirm that the algorithm works with CDMA towers as well for the most part. It appear where two cells (colored areas) meet on the map, there is a cell phone tower. Unfortunately, they randomly name cells so that I can't detect a tower with a few exceptions :( T-Mobile USA (UMTS) also does the same thing.
Works great on my Verizon Omnia II i920.
Works great in HD2. Thanks mate.
@jens: It calculates cell phone coverage and tower locations. See WIND Mobile - Vancouver for a good example of what happens if you run it for a longer period of time. @nino: Can you give me the details of what happens?
works, but what is it good for? i can see the data on the homepage, but for what is it good for?
The icon looked white after install. Froze the phone and had to power on
I sent an email to you, thanks for responding! I really Really want this app for my phone, I've been searching for awhile for somthing like this, so i hope your sucsessfull, but again i want to say, thanks for such a quick response!
@Mcomeau334: Can you send me an e-mail saying what the screen says when it is frozen? The program may appear to freeze if you enable uploading. This should only "freeze" for about 3 seconds max. @trevlig: Yes, it should work on any network and phone in theory. In practice, some phones have bugs and some networks don't follow standards. So cell tower locations can't be guessed on those networks. Thanks to everybody for using it!
work perfect on HTC HD2, i was looking for signal measurerment tool like this for a while. many thanks,
Neat idea, but it does not work on my verizon tp2. i uninstalled, reinstalled, and even tried the zip version 3 from the website. when i say it doesnt work, i mean, all it does do is freeze up my phone for about 1min, and then does nothing except for continuing to "run" in my processes. i have to run my clean ram program to shut it down. i'll be looking foward to a fix though. thanks
Does it work in all countries, with all operators/networks ?
good
Sorry that it doesn't work for you piter171. So far it has worked for people with: HTC Snap/Maple HTC Touch 2 HTC Touch Diamond 2 HTC HD2 HTC Touch Pro 2 HTC ST7377 It should work on any Windows Mobile 6.x phone, though. Please contact me via contact@cellmapper.net if you would like to help me make it work on your phone.
