BlackMe is a Windows Mobile 5.0 / WM6 tool that turns the screen off while you don't need it.

You can use it while logging gps data (for example with WMMiniGPS), when you connect your device to the desktop to sync/recharge it, when you're listening to music with an mp3 player, etc...

The best method to use this program is to associate a button to it (through Settings->Buttons).

When the button is pressed, the screen should be turned off. You can turn on the screen pressing the d-pad central button. Press it again to close the application or press the associated button to turn the screen off again.

Tested on:

- HTC P3600 (WM5) [working].

Update Description:

v1.3 (10-03-2009):
- When the screen is off, keys are disabled.

v1.2 (22-07-2008)
- Changed button action, few bugs corrected.

v1.1 (05-07-2008):
- Timeout, GUI.

v1.0 (13-05-2008):

It Works great on my Toshiba G810(WM6.1),but how to set auto turn off and hide behind TODAY at the same time?

Great feature, would prefer not to have to turn off the screen every time I press the select key.

Thank you SO So much, I have a HTC Diamond & I could not just hit the power button to black the screen, it would stop my music, now it's no problem. Thank you Marco!!! -Terry

This software will make your screen alone to shutoff there by saving the light(battery) power/energy, so your battery will come longer, i believe. Say if your screen darkens out by the number of seconds you set then your application wont be running where as this app will solve that problem, i guess. I just installed it and its a nice s/w.

Great utility, thanks. However I would appreciate a possibility to black the screen and lock all buttons except action and power button as well. Maybe a tip for next evolution?

The couple of very minor bugs that were in the 1.0 version are completely fixed in version 1.1! Nice work.

Nice idea, but I was disappointed to discover that my WiFi still dies on my HTC TyTN II (Kaiser) when this program is run. I therefore opted for a simple html file that displays a page with a black background. Just open it in a browser and select full-screen :)

This is great! I can finally black my screen while running my TyTN II as internet sharing device! Thank you for the great app! Very intuitive! Everyone should see the tip about mapping it to a button. I might change my today menu quick links for this.

very nice and useful, I'm using because I think the standby button is uncomfortable. The best setup is to use icon of the application to tourn off and the central button to disactivate it. I suggest, if it is possible, to introduce a small area of the screen to touch to disactivate and tourn on the screen, without using any button.
